I know I said I wouldn't bother anymore with this, but I do care about this place enough to try to think on how to make it better.
I propose a rule of "Don't use the 7 words against mods when you are pitting them for their moderation".
You can still pit mods and their moderation, of course. You can be as intense as you want, just don't use the seven words.
You can still use the seven words against them elsewhere, including pittings against them for reasons other than their moderation (pitting them as posters).
This, in combination with the "no talking back to the mods in the thread where they modded you. Start a new pitting" should greatly reduce the level of ugliness that the mods have to deal with in their function of mods.
It is also an always-on rule, with clear cut boundaries and no room for error or interpretations.
I think this is a more reasonable and enforceable rule than the current non-pit rules flop.
My two cents.
ETA: I don't really know what the actual seven words are, but I am sure we all get the idea of what kind of language I am talking about.
