Questions about the Indian version of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire"

Inspired, of course, by the film Slumdog Millionaire.
Not that it should affect anyone's enjoyment of the film, but I was just curious about a couple of details:

1. Is the show aired live as depicted in the movie?

2. At several points, including the final question, the host cautions Jamal that if he gives a wrong answer, he'll lose everything. In the U.S. version, there are certain plateaus at which winnings are guaranteed. Is this not the case in India?

No, the show is not aired live in India or anywhere else in the world. The film-makers know this but took artistic licence.
