I don't know if it's factually correct that there are 10 cc of semen in an average ejaculation (you'd have to ask a urologist about that!), but it IS true that the members of the band THOUGHT it was true, and that's why they adopted the name.

Incidentally, they were really a 70s band- led by Graham Gouldman (one of the most successful songwriters of the British Invasion years- he wrote a lot of hits for the Yardbirds and the Hollies, among others), and Kevin Godley & Lol Creme, who became pioneers of music video in the 80s (they produced videos for early MTV bands like Duran Duran).
