That's a mouthful, eh?

I know a chef named Mr. Bland.

In college, one of the guys on my floor was studying to transfer to a Catholic seminary. If he made it, he is surely a priest by now. Father Cohen. Seriously.

A friend of mine claims to have once been the patient of a gynecologist named Dr. Pryk.

This one is a stretch, but I once met a PETA zombie with the last name Tanner.

My mom's surgeon's name was Dr. Slaughter.

One of my friends, growing up, had a mother who was a nurse. Her maiden name was Paine and he liked to talk about his mom, Nurse Pain.

My sister is a chef; however, she is not a baker, as she likes to tell people, since there seems to be some confusion since her last name is Baker.

I knew a guy named Little. He was a Major in the Army.

A white guy named Black. If he got in trouble, he'd ask if it was because he was Black.

Lieutenant Sargent (not quite sergeant, but close enough)

A mechanic named Pilot.

Explain this one please. One would imagine that Catholic priests named Cohen are as rare as foreskins on a circumcised penis.

Explain this one please.

Cohen is a very common Jewish name. In addition, if your last name is Cohen, there is a very good chance that you are descended from the kohanim, the traditional priests of Judaism.

Ah right. Cohen is also an Irish name though, or are these Irish Cohens from the same stock too?

I once saw a contractor's truck with this painted on it: R.E. Damphousse - Roofing and Siding

ETA: I just Googled, and found them (http://www.superpages.com/bp/Lawrence-MA/Damphousse-Ray-E-Jr-Sons-Roofing-CO-L0127391625.htm).

Dallas has the R.H. Dedman Medical Center (http://www.hospital-data.com/hospitals/R-H-DEDMAN-MEMORIAL-MEDICAL-CENTER-D900.html). I think it's often delicately referred to as the RHD medical center.

This is about the 24th time I will have mentioned Des Moines, IA's Flatt Tire Center (http://www.iowatires.com).

I'm hoping to talk 'em into a new set of all-weather radials for the Volvo.

My favorite has always been Cardinal Sin (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaime_Cardinal_Sin) of the Philippines.

Baseball pitchers Bob Walk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_Walk) and Eric Plunk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Plunk) were also unfortunately named, as well as hitter Nick Swisher (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Swisher).

I do remember a pilot that was a first officer in British Airways called John Coward.

I also do remember how amusing was to see a soldier in Iraq being interviewed and his name posted on the screen was also Coward.
