I think if you'll check for some of the old threads on this subject that many people here also post to fathom and to snopes. I personally came here from snopes. Also, several people here actually run message boards, too, IIRC.

NPR's the Car Guys' Cafe Dartre, various forums, infrequently. Under Babylon7 handle.

Friendly board, not a lot of extraneous chitchat, and a few writers hang out there too.

(I'm not sure if I knew about this one when the other threads were active.)
