Every summer the Shedd Aquarium has live Jazz music on the terrace on Thursday nights. This is one of my favorite things to do in the summer. It's relatively inexpensive, the music is good, and the view of the sun setting over the city is AMAZING!

However, I've noticed that every year, the attendance is lower and lower. When I first went, 4 years ago, it was packed to the gills, now I see maybe 25 people. I wonder why? I know that the cost has gone up slightly every year, but 12 dollars still seems reasonable for live music plus aquarium admission. This past Thursday felt like no one was there at all. Is it because people don't know about it? Is it the cost? The weather? I feel like this is just one of the many wonderful things to do in Chicago, but I worry that if people aren't doing it, it will go away!!

I had no idea this was happening.

But I may try to go this week. Sounds like a blast.

We're going to do this one of these Thursdays. I didn't know about it until I started planning a visit to the Shedd this morning.

We were in Chicago last summer and went to Shedd's. I didn't see any information about the live jazz. Though we did get to see a lot of good music in the area. Some big reggae festival in the park. Some good old blues in some seafood cajun cafe. Yummm.
