As a sort of thank you for all of your help in URL="http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=526960"]furnishing my hobbit-hole[/URL], I'm throwing a potluck dinner party. You're all invited, as long as you list the recipe for the hobbit themed food you're bringing.
I have plenty of dark ale, long bottom leaf, breads and cheeses and some sauteed mushrooms. Everything else is up to you guys!

Great! This gives me a chance to try out my 'dragon-roasted dwarf' recipe! Twelve times I've tried cooking it so far, with varying results. This time though, I think I've got it down just right.

Psssst We call it "onion loaf", else the old, bearded guy with the staff acts like he's off his meds or something.

Rabbit stew. Cooked, not raw. With 'taters. That's PO-TA-TOES to you.
For you raw food eaters, a nice fresh fish obtained with great stealth late at night from a forbidden pool. Juicy sweeeeeeeet!

The only adventures I've had are hiding from those gawddam fireworks.
You won't let the old guy bring that stuff, will you?

I'll bring an assortment of Dorwinion wines. Delicious and refreshing, but be careful - they pack quite a punch.

One truckle of good sharp cheese that's been lurking in the corner of the dairy for a while, and a gallon of pickled onions that won't give up without a fight.

Just put on some eggs, and fetch out the cold chicken and pickles...

Okay, well, when after Brasso and Drano got their jollies at the last battle with the Slumlord of Borax, this whole "cleaning products" thing got...
Eh, it'd take too long, and I see our host has just brewed up a nice pot of tea and brought out the brandysnaps, fudge fingers, toffee pennies and marzipanned dates, so let's just get on with "filling up the corners" instead.
