Each year, the guys and gals over at Maxim compile a Hot 100 list (lnk in the spoiler box below) Supposedly it's a ranking of the one hundred comeliest female celebrities, but I suspect it's more a tribute to how good these women's various publicists are. I'm sure the Teeming Millions can do a better job.
Rules are simple here. The poll options are the women who took the top 10 spots this year. In answering the poll, note which women do not belong even in the top 100, much less the top 10. You may also post a response saying whom you would put on the list to replace them. We're not really rating the women in the poll relative to one another.

I voted off most of them. Kristen Bell, Natalie Portman, Monica Bellucci, Gabrielle Union, Nell McAndrew, Kate Winslet, and Maria Sharapova were all robbed.
ETA: Oh, and obviously the winner will be the woman from the original list with the fewest votes. Multiple choces are allowed, and the poll closes in 7 days. All votes are public.

I only recognize five of the names on this list, and of those five I really only know what two of them look like. Am I horrifically out of touch, or are most of these women not very famous?

B) If you feel that your knowing them proves none of them belongs on the list, you can vote them all off.
III) Contrariwise, if you feel that you aren't superficial and objectifying enough to participate, you can always skip the voting and just nominate your high school girlfriend or soemthing.

Kunis is not worthy to paint Winslet's toenails. Not that I would want her to do so anyway, as I find painted nails icky for reasonsn I can neither explain nor escape.

Rihanna is not actually attractive.. she's kind of cute in a puppy way but that's it.
With Megan Fox we are told over and over agan how hot she is and yeah at a strip club you would probably tip her an extra dollar.. but you wouldn't lose your shit over her in the real world.
Eliza Dushku... she's not even cute.. She has downey + dead eyes, a man's voice and awkward mannerisms.
Mila Kunis IS the hot version of Dushku.
Olivia Wilde is really gorgeous and I firmly believe she belongs on this list. (ETA).. .wait.. I was thinking of someone else... Meh.. She's hot.. but I don't think she necessary belongs on this list.
The only four that should stay are:
Bar Refaeli
Mila Kunis
Eliza Dushku
Megan Fox
The rest vary from unattractive (Rihanna, JLH, Olivia Wilde) to dime a dozen (Lima, Malin Ackerman, Jordana Brewster). Nothing against any of them, just sharing an opinion.
And looking through the rest of the list...what the hell happened to Lindsay Lohan? If you ask me, Danneel Harris is right up there (number 28). I've also thought Hilary Duff was kind of underrated on this list as well.

If your top 10 hottest damsels list doesn't have Zooey Deschanel, your top 10 hottest damsels list isn't worth a damn. Where's Kate Winslet? Where's Jessica Alba? This list makes me sad.
Don't get me wrong, these women are all hot as hell, but I don't think I'd put any of them in the top 10.
Edit: Aaaaaand in my idiot zeal to check all the boxes I also checked the "all these women belong on the list" box. Please ignore that one.

I voted them all off. I had only ever heard of Megan Fox & Jennifer Love Hewitt and I still had to Google image search their names to remember what they look like.
I would replace them with ten local women.

Most of those ladies I've never heard of, so I just went by their pictures in the Maxim list. And I have to say, I think that the first folks who need to get voted off are the Maxim photographers/wardrobers/retouchers/whatever. Even without knowing more about the subjects, I have to imagine that most of them probably look nice normally, when they're not being made to embody one of the photographer's bizarre fetishes, as appeared to be the case here.
As for who to put in their stead, I'd pick the entire female cast of Firefly, and most of Battlestar Galactica, over any of them.

I honestly don't get why Jennifer Love Hewitt would be on this list. I'm not saying she's ugly; she's not at all. But she looks attractive in a way that many non-Hollywood celebrities meet or beat.
Everyone else I can at least see why people would think they're hot, even if I don't personally agree. Olivia Wilde's jaw knocks her out of contention, IMO. It's gigantic. But then her eyes could make up for it because those are a gorgeous set of peepers.

This should really be called the "10 women who meet Maxim's very narrow definition of beauty". Apparently in Maxim's world, having bangs or red hair or curls disqualifies you from being the hottest women in the world. So does having any sort of weight or dark skin, but most magazines unfortunately do that. They're all beautiful, but outside of Rihanna nobody really stands out. The most obvious omissions:

Yes, Adriana Lima is already on the list. But frankly, she needs to be on there at least twice.

A few things.
I have no idea who most of the women on that list are. But, with that said, there are a few who I wouldn't put in the top 10,000. Lily Allen at #40?! The hell? You could walk down any street and find a woman more attractive (in terms of personality and looks) than her. Lindsey Lohan (and Britney freakin' spears? Are you kidding?) is above Scarlett Johansson. This is also insane.
Most of the top 10 I can't work up too much indignation about, but Megan Fox as #2 and 13 as #1?!
Megan Fox is so overrated (in both acting ability and 'hotness' - she always looked kind of...well, greasy and dirty to me, and not in a good way. Like one of those girls in a bar who you just know has some form of STI) it's not even funny. 13 did her best to ruin recent seasons of House with her incessant whining and managed to make Foreman even more boring. So I might be a tad biased against her (it's not often you're routing for Huntington's), but she's also way too skinny and has the jawline of a rugby player.

That magazine has an uncanny ability to find gorgeous women and take pictures that unerringly fail to capture it. I can picture the photographer, working Austin-Powers style, encouraging them during the shoot. "Okay, look into the camera; now, you want something, desperately, and you have no idea what it is." It's an aesthetic that I refer to as "aggressively vacuous". I hope it doesn't catch on (more than it already has).

Tastes vary, of course, but in my universe, Halle Berry would top the list year after year after year. But she's over 25? Hasn't made a movie lately? Sorry, babe, we've moved on.
Megan Fox is skanky and harsh-looking, but for whatever reason she's the flavor of the month with the 18-24 demographic these days. That's all this list is about, really. (Though I'm afraid I can't explain JL Hewitt.)

I haven't noticed Dushku's weird mannerisms, and don't care about her voice either way, but those droopy eyes kill everything for me. Also, J. Love Hewitt looks like a horse, and Mila Kunis is gorgeous.
Please note that I am going stir crazy with the flu and am watching My So Called Life for the first time on DVD and why isn't Claire Danes on the list and I'd really like to go get a sandwich, but I can't leave the house and go cough on people and spread the creeping malaise. Also, the numbers on the list are actually the womens' rank subtracted from 101, but I don't know how to get the SDMB (powered by vBulletin) to print a numbered list in reverse order, and the following coding is really easy to do in Excel so it's not like I'm all that compulsive.

Yes obviously this is nothing more than a publicity-driven thing (I think I've seen all of these ladies as Maxim covergirls in the past year), and obviously it's silly to try and rank the top echelon of the beauty world without a rigid set of criteria, but I have to say none of these women would be in my top 10. They all have great faces, which is a big deal, but there are women out there with great faces who also have serious bodies. There are several pornstars I'd rank above any of these.
I didn't even recognize half the names, but seriously... Jennifer Love Hewitt?
Evidently you need to be famous to make these lists (although it's a bit of a circular thing), but half the girls in my class are prettier than she is.

Obviously a list like this is very, very subjective, so I usually don't get very incensed by anything I see. However:
Padma Lakshmi is all the way down at 95!? Really? She may not be the most dynamic personality to grace the television screen, but that woman is unvelievably gorgeous.
Amy Adams, Allyson Hannigan, Kristen Bell, and the Deschanel sisters got robbed (they could have at least made Zooey Deschanel and Katy Perry co-entries).
Cheryl Burke should be the "Dancing With the Stars" pro on the list, not Julianne Hough.

My take, as a person keen on females: if they can't hold a conversation, they're not hot. Megan Fox can't talk reasonably about her own fingernails let alone anything of any merit. Olivia Wilde has a problem with reciting the technical medical dialogue on "House" and that's given to her on a piece of paper and probably cue cards too. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mila Kunis, Eliza Dushku and Rhianna are adorable but about as bright as the lightbulb in my microwave.
I voted every single member of the top ten right off the list. When come back, bring intelligence.

The reason people like Salma Hayek aren't on the list is they're not well known to 19-year-old douchebags, Maxim's target market.
If I had to take one name off the list it'd be Kunis. She's pretty, but has a boy's body. Next to go would be Eliza Dushku, who has a great body but isn't pretty. To be one of the ten hottest women in ANY group of 100, you have to have both. (It gets worse as you go down the list, though; AVRIL LAVIGNE? She wasn't the hottest girl in her high school English class.)
it's silly from the get go, since it can't be the 100 Hottest Women. It's the 100 Hottest Women Who Are Known To The American Entertainment Industry, Are Presently Marketable, And Whose Publicists Are Doing A Good Job. Obviously, the 100 Hottest Women according to Maxim probably wouldn't fill out much of the 100 Hottest Women at any reasonably mid-sized university. I've dated women hotter than some of those women, and I'm ugly. I've had vastly hotter women serve me in restaurants. I once had a stewardess on an Air Canada flight who was - and I assure you no heterosexual man alive would disagree - hotter than any woman in this Top 10.
But Maxim can't take pictures of every woman on earth, and nobody's getting paid for running articles like "Lisa H. Williams of Wellington, New Zealand, an HR generalist for Smith and Sons Die And Tool Inc., is the hottest woman alive."

It is passing strange that, when listing Charlize Theron on that list, they show a picture of the Aeon Flux cartoon.Likewise, the entry for Angelina Jolie showed a picture of the video-game Lara Croft. At least they managed to pick Sharon over Six, and had Princess Leia in the top position, though.
And the ladies that Flip Pancake linked to were all hotter than the Maxim top 10, at least in the pictures shown, and that even before considering their braininess.

Kunis is not worthy to paint Winslet's toenails. Not that I would want her to do so anyway, as I find painted nails icky for reasonsn I can neither explain nor escape.

If I had to take one name off the list it'd be Kunis. She's pretty, but has a boy's body. Next to go would be Eliza Dushku, who has a great body but isn't pretty. To be one of the ten hottest women in ANY group of 100, you have to have both. (It gets worse as you go down the list, though; AVRIL LAVIGNE? She wasn't the hottest girl in her high school English class.)

This isn't top 10, but #98 Rebecca Mader (Charlotte on Lost) is not only not attractive but actually makes me uneasy to look at her. I can't point at anything in particular that's horrifying or anything, but the total package.... ugh. The idea that she made it over.... every other woman in hollywood bothers me. There are some especially hot current hollywood stars that aren't even on the list.

Mila Kunis never did much for me on That '70s Show, but she's been on my "List of 5" ever since I saw Forgetting Sarah Marshall. She growed up well.
If you don't agree, though, it's cool. Quite frankly, some of the ladies mentioned on this thread have had me scratching my head (*cough* katewinslet *cough*), but if you like 'em, more power to you.
