View Full Version : How many sex partners per year have you had...

...since you became sexually active?
For the numerator, use whatever act you count toward your "number." I'm not looking for an argument over whether a drunken BJ in a bathroom counts as a partner or not. Personally, I'm just counting intercourse.
For the denominator, use your current age minus the age that you lost your "virginity." Again, your virginity is what you make of it. Personally, I've been active for 18 years, nine of which were in an exclusive relationship.

Depending on what your definition of is is I can count them on one hand. And that includes the hand. [sigh]

.21, if I did the math correctly based on your example.

Oh, I totally did that wrong.
Okay. .22222...

Yeah, in case there are any questions about the math:
Mine is 22 partners / 18 years, for 1.22. I picked "M: 1-2".

Well over 6. I had years in my 20s that the number was at least 50 per year.

Mine was 3 people/14 years, FYI.
Wait, shit, I forgot somebody. Make that 4 people/14 years. New total: .28. Does not change my poll answer.

Didn't do that right did I?

Shit I never read the OP of a poll, I just vote. It's a bad habit. My answer is incorrect.

Whoops. Didn't read the poll before voting. You might want to ask a mod to append "per year" to your thread title.
The correct answer for me is 1-2, but I put 6+.

Let me see....one partner ever in almost 50 years. (Apparently I'm not very attractive.) Oh wait, I've been married to her for 45 years.
Not quite what the poll demonstrates.

Six in 11 years.

It probably works out to around 10 per year as an average. (counting from the time I was 17)

I'm wondering if this would work better if we were told to discount periods during which we were married (or in monogamous relationships to partners we would have married, for our gay friends).

I'm pretty sure this would be a more interesting poll if you used a logarithmic scale. The difference between, say, 0.5 and 1 is a lot bigger than that between 5 and 6.

I really don't know what to answer. I had years from my teens 'til age 24 when I lost count. Since that time, however, I have had only 4 sex partners. I'll be 50 in February.
So, for about 10 years, the number is probably >6 per year. Then for the next 26 years, the number is 0.15 per year.

You may not be looking for an argument, but you're getting one. What disqualifies the drunken BJ . . . because it's a BJ or because you were drunk? And if you're "just counting intercourse," then I must still be a virgin, in spite of thousands of sexual encounters.
And how do I count all those thousands, followed by 22 years of monogamy?

Nothing disqualifies the drunken BJ. If you read the OP again you'll see you get to count whichever sex act(s) you like.

Obviously monogamy brings the average down over time. In my teens and twenties it would have been 6+, but now that I've been in a committed relationship for years, and married for the last few, the average has gone down since I haven't been increasing my "score" for that time.

Sorry for any confusion; I was specifically trying to avoid just that issue. For me, nothing counts for my personal grand total but the lingam and the yoni. Other people, queer and non-queer, may have different interpretations. If you feel that a drunken beej counts as a sex partner, then count it that way. If you don't, then don't.
For some reason, I don't see monogamy the same way, even though discounting for it (as RNATB suggests) would have the net effect of doubling my personal average (assuming that's a good thing.)
I don't really see a way to construct a perfectly rigorous poll other than to have separate polls for straight, gay, and bi males and females, respectively. Since I'm doing this more out of idle curiosity more than anything else, I can't really be arsed to do it. Feel free, though.

I'll just pick the highest number. I'm not even going to bother doing the math since I'm a huge ho-bag, apparently.

What are the minimum number of replacement parts allowed on a Real Doll before she becomes a new partner?

Me too. I can't come up with a number without using differential calculus.

I had some really slutty years. But I also had a few years where I was in exclusive relationships. It averages out.... kinda. I mean, ask me again once I've been married for a few years. That average will surely come down.

Following instructions, I get 45/45, but eactly 1 wasn't an option. My wife would be the same. (How do I know? I know.)

Well I've been monogamous for several years now, so that skews my average. Probably 4 or 5 per year prior to that.

I don't think these stats are going to tell you anything.
I am not even going to vote, because my numbers don't fit onto your scale.

.4285, roughly. Streaks of player-dom, followed by years of monogamy or celibacy.
Of course, one can be many (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=erRCS8BBRfo).

So, 1.25 / 55

Same for me - I mean, I've had about 15 in 10 years, but the last 5 of those years, I've been with my husband and nobody else. So when I'm single, I can rack 'em up if I want, but if I'm in a relationship, then that's the only person I'm with.

How about irrational ones?

Female. 19 partners in 26 years. But when you consider that 17 of them were in the past 6 years (after my divorce) that makes it different - don't you think?

I think we all consider them sex partners.
