After the gazillionth thread in Cecil's Columns complaining that Cecil appears to be prescient,

I had a thought that maybe we need a sticky to the effect that Cecil's columns have been edited numerous times since the original publication date (for books, for AOL, for Little Ed's Christmas party), so items in the columns may reference things occurring after the posted first run date.

Or something like that. What do you think? It would save us repeating that every couple weeks.

Better yet, a note at the end of any columns that are edited, kind of like a revision list.

I like this a lot better. The articles need some indication on them that they've been edited (IMHO).

Well, sure, updating each column that has been edited with a list of when each edit occurred and how it was originally printed would be ideal. But that would also be a ton of work.

Even adding a note to each edited column would take considerable time, much less identifying which ones have been edited.

What I am proposing is a small cost in time in effort that will hopefully preclude a lot of cost in time and effort responding to "How did Cecil know about wikipedia in 1979?"

An excellent idea, Irishman. So I done it. Thanks for the suggestion.
