A real riddle question

For anyone who's read Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, have you managed to figure out the riddle of the bottles? Or doesn't the book give enough information to solve it without being able to see the order of the bottles like the characters in the book could?

They do NOT give enough information, because (at least in the US edition) there is no picture, and hence no way to tell which bottles are the biggest and smallest. I was annoyed. (Still a good book, though.)

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban came out in the US yesterday. I just finished reading it, and it's just as good as the first two.

Yeah, it is ... I read it last week, while it was still technically illegal. (One of the perks of working in a children's bookstore.)

My GF works in a bookstore, but she wasn't allowed to borrow a copy until the lay-down date. ::grumble::

By a strange coincidence, I have just finished reading this book. I agree that a picture would be needed to solve the puzzle, since one of the clues relies on the sizes of the bottles. It's a shame, because it would have been fun to try to work it out. Quite possibly the British edition did have a picture.

I did notice that the copy I read used Americanized spelling and referred to soccer. Why did they do that? Do they think American kids are too stupid to figure out "colour" means "color"?
