I'm browsing in the bookstore's humor section, and see a book by my favorite funny author*.
And the blurb says this book is "not recommended for reading at the beach. You'll laugh so hard everything will jiggle."
Huh?
Now, what's wrong with that?
Why would a woman who's dressed for the beach be embarrassed of a little jiggle?
And in general, when you are getting ready to invest hard-earned money in a good, funny book--- how do you rate the level of funny?
'Cause I'm, well,.... not built right.. for using the jiggle-meter test.
(*David Sedaris.
But, as I type this, it occurs to me that maybe he's not my favorite, maybe he's only number 2, after Bill Bryson. )
