There is, in the centre of town, a bit of graffiti painted on a wall. It's a picture of a man in profile with a funny nose and floppy hair, possibly meant to represent Bob Geldof, with a speech bubble full of runes coming out of it.
The inscription starts with a colon, presumably marking the start of the sentence.
The first character is, judging by the wiki page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runic_alphabet) the f rune feoh, the first in the futhark alphabet: like this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Runic_letter_fehu.svg)
The second is the second letter in the futhark alphabet, ur, like this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Runic_letter_uruz.svg) but with the sloped line bent as in the younger futhark.
This is followed by two of the c/z rune in this picture (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f6/Medeltida_runor.svg/410px-Medeltida_runor.svg.png).
Then a dot, probably a word seperator.
The first of the second word was the bottom "y" here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Medeltida_runor.svg).
The second was as an upside down feoh or like the o here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Medeltida_runor.svg)
Next is another "ur" as above followed by a word seperator then the a from here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Medeltida_runor.svg), and two of the laguz rune here (http://http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Runic_letter_laukaz.svg).
