The Mariners shouldn't. But if they're dumb enough to accept such an offer, the Red Sox should gladly take them up on their foolishness.

Tanbarkie: You're SO right that Seattle'd be dumb to do that! Why I'd move the Sox I'd move:
Dice-K: People think he sucks because he doesn't go deep in games
Okajima: Dice-K's comfort level
Ellsbury: Injury prone, team seems to have soured on him

I'd say that insulting the intelligence of opposing GMs is probably counter-productive. So, no.

I don't even see a financial upside for this for Seattle. Why on earth would they do this?

While we're in Bizarro Trade Land, I'd like the Blue Jays to trade Brian Tallet to the Yankees for Robinson Cano and, since they then won't need Aaron Hill, flip Hill to the Reds for Joey Votto and Aroldis Chapman. And I want a pony.

Okie outright to the first GM who correctly guesses how many fingers I'm holding in front of their face....

Not unless the Phillies also throw in Jimmy Rollins.

I had the same response as everybody else and I hadn't even noticed yet that Ichiro was included in the deal, too.

People constantly call into the Boston sports radio stations and suggest these ridiculous trades and the hosts just rip them to shreds every time. It's one of my favorite parts of the shows. :)

And the Mets can trade David Wright and Jose Reyes for the ghost of Victor Zambrano. Wait am I doing this wrong?

But some deals you just can't turn down.

The Padres have expressed a reluctant willingness to send Wolrd Series MVP, perennial gamer and official mascot David Eckstein to the Rockies, and in return are going to settle for Troy Tulowitzki, Ubaldo Jimenez, and some cash.

They should throw in a bag of those juiced balls as well.

Fuck your juiced balls bullshit. (http://everyjoe.com/sports/video-tim-lincecum-juiced-ball-comment/)

No, based on the last ten years or so, that sounds about right to me.

Brian Tallet for Cano? Are you kidding? You've got to at least throw in proven veteran backup catcher Jose Molina if you want to get Cano.
