Nothing. I was hitting the highway, on the way home, and knew I would stop at Goulburn to have the mixed grill at the Paragon Cafe - steak, sausage, lamb chop, bacon, lamb's fry, fried egg, vegetables, scalloped potatoes.

Add a side order of toast and a mug of coffee, and I will do it every time I am heading North or South past the place.

I'm at a conference, and this is my morning off, so I walked over to an IHOP and got two eggs scrambled, toast, hash browns and pork sausage. And coffee, of course. Probably cost half of what it would in the hotel. The rest of the week it is crappy muffins and such at pre-session meetings.

My usual, oatmeal with raisins and cinnamon with a splash of milk. This tends to be my everyday breakfast. Maybe 3 or 4 times a year I will end up with poached eggs over toast with 2 slices bacon, and maybe twice a year I will end up with crepes or pancakes.

Couldn't have asked on a day when I hadn't gone nutritionally astray, couldja?

2 eggs over easy, 2 sausage patties, white toast with butter, hash browns with onions, and a waffle. My first visit to a Waffle House. I drank water.

Off to the lunch thread.

Yesterday's breakfast was more fun. A frittata with mozzarella cheese and leftover salmon from Costco, and a side of smoked trout because you can never have too much seafood. The toddler inhaled it.

Today was just bacon and eggs and black coffee.

But, courtesy of a coworker's chickens, tomorrow is a farm fresh fried egg over easy and link sausage. The sausage wasn't laid by the chickens in case there is any confusion. (But wouldn't that be handy?)

Sounds wonderful.

But what I don't understand is where y'all get the time for this. It is literally all I can do to get my fat ass out of bed, shower, dress and drive to the office in time to be vaguely prompt. It sounds like a lot of these breakfasts are 45 minute to an hour including prep and cleaning up.

whole wheat toast w/ cheeze wiz, probiotic yogurt, mini wheats, grapefruit. That keeps me full until 2pm.

I usually decide the night before what I think I'll be craving for breakfast before work if its something that takes more time like french toast, bacon, sausage etc. I'll get up a little earlier. Nothing like a good nights sleep and a great breakfast.

I've gotten really lucky with my job, and my hours are really flexible. Since I've been able to slide my shift to later in the day, I actually get up a couple hours before I need to be at work these days. Back when I had to be rigidly on time, early, like by 8am or sometimes 7am, it was all I could do to give myself 20 minutes to get up and out the door. I like things much better the way they are now!

And this morning: 4 morningstar breakfast sausages with a spoonful of real maple syrup, a banana, and a soy latte.

Followed soon after by nice walk and a huge Ballot!

A Fiber One bar -- chocolate peanut butter and some grape juice. (I think. It might have been just chocolate chip).
I can't eat really heavy first thing when I get up. I have to save the traditional breakfast stuff (bacon, eggs, etc) for a brunch type thing.

I'm in this boat, too (although I don't think my ass is fat, per se...) I eat breakfast at work, and I eat the same thing every day. 4 AkMak crackers and some Trader Joe's natural, chunky, unsalted peanut butter. I've tried a different brand of peanut butter (yuk) and sometimes have run out of crackers and had to substitute wheat pretzels (sad, but still good) but this is my preferred breakfast 7 days/week.

Yesterday, though, I had oral surgery. No way can I eat crunchy crackers and sticky peanut butter. I'm starving, and I know we have steel-cut oats, which I love, but doing something different is not in my nature and I'm kind of grumpy about it.

A kolache containing sausage, cheese & a bit of Jalapeno.

Actually, it was a klobasnek; Kolaches (http://homesicktexan.blogspot.com/2007/03/sweet-escape-kolaches.html) are round. But, outside the Czech belt, most people say kolache. It was very fresh--I think they bring them in from Shipley, Houston's home-town donut (& kolache) vendor.
