Is there a logical reason why females generally carry textbooks across their chests while males normally carry their books under their arms and to the side? I know with backpacks today it is hard to see any books carried at all.

Wasn't this answered already in another thread. I guess it is because:
males are (in general):
>stronger
>bigger (hands/arms)
>More willingto use strengh t when there might be a less strenous way of doing that.
>less intrested in school and probally don't carry as many books.
> under social pressure not to carry your books like a girl - but then again I never remember anyone teased for this.
