When ask.com was founded it was called AskJeeves, and had a butler mascot on the page. When did they get rid of him?

Jeeves started in 1996. He "retired" (according to the web site) in 2006 but came back out of retirement for the UK/Ireland versions of the web site in 2009. You can still ask Jeeves if you go to the UK site http://uk.ask.com/.

If you go to the site, you'll see that Jeeves is now a fancy 3-D model instead of a 2-D cartoon.
