of any president whose smiles we have records of. And probably the best smile of most other world leaders and political figures.
I'm sure the haters will say his grin is ridiculous in some way but c'mon...the guy has a fantastic smile. Easy to caricature, for sure, but that's the charm.
And that's my HO.

he does have a great smile. it is very close to his grandfather stanley's.
we don't see it very often because he knows that being president is serious stuff. however his wife did mention on oprah that he has a great sense of humour.

FWIW I agree. A google search turned up tons of images, and pretty much all of them looked genuine. He's obviously got a politician's mind, but he seems more real and accessible than the average old white dude.

W.'s "heh-heh-heh" smile was pretty good. Didn't he look great smiling during his "I don't really care all that much about Bin Laden" news conference?

It's a shame the photography of the time couldn't capture Lincoln's grin. You can look at his face and know it must have transformed it.

I think he's the hottest.
Well, c'mon, who doesn't? Is anyone else even a contender? Of the many ways American presidents can be described, "fuckable" isn't even on the list, is it?
In my own opinion, the only remotely sexy presidents (aside from Obama, who is decidedly sexy, not remotely) are JFK (Okay, pretty damn sexy) and Clinton. Reagan may have been a movie star, but I never could figure out why, since he had zero sex appeal. FDR? Not really. Eisenhower? Truman? Hoover? Teddy R.? Johnson? Jimmy? The Bushes?
Reaching futher... Grant might have had it goin' on when he was younger. I think LIncoln was sexy, but I think tha'ts just a fetishy thing with me and very tall thin men with great bones structure. (I think Howard stern is hot.) Ditto Andrew Jackson.
Jefferson might have been a looker when he was young.
And that's it. But maybe Obama is setting a new standard, especially in these shallow times that only get shallower, and hottitude is going to become more of a factor for future presidents.

Not my cuppa, but way hunkier than I ever imagined.
But for the purposes of this discussion, I think it's really about "hot while in office" and Ford wasn't even close.

Wow. I had no idea. The only picture I looked at was the White House portrait (http://www.whitehouse.gov/about/presidents/franklinpierce), which I actually hesitated over, then decided it was much too fey. But the photo was yummy. Who knew?

And Obama always walks out "all cool" - The other thing Obama has that no other president ever had is cool. My absolute favorite parody of him thus far is SNL's "I'm cool" skit. Cuz he is, in both senses, each of which informs the other, I think: he's cool in the sense of being hip, smooth, sexy, and he's cool in the sense of being incredibly stable in his emotional responses, both positive and negative, and for what it's worth, that is a quality I very much appreciate in my President. The leader of the free world, with his hand on the button, is certainly someone you want to be calm and restrained in his reactions.

This link is great. It does have a problem, though, I think. Why does it use a picture of George W. Bush as a young man, but show every single other president at the age he was actually serving?
Grant, (http://www.argenweb.net/woodruff/graphics/grant43a.jpg) Taft, (http://static4.businessinsider.com/image/4d5eaa7acadcbbec060e0000-400-300/william-howard-taft-class-of-1878.jpg) Coolidge (http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/90/CoolidgeAmherst.png) and McKinley (http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3520/3727120755_a85de18eb4.jpg) are all contenders if you are just going by how they looked when they were in their twenties.

That's not anything new...I mean, while few might be "hot," we already know that since a few decades ago, you can't be short, bald, or fat and become president.
