Pal*i*dors (noun)
[probably from middle Greek, from palin back, again + dors back]

First appeared circa the other night

1 : an error in usage; especially to misunderstand the purpose of a tool. <what a ~, trying to turn a screw with a hammer!>

2 : a person oblivious to FAQs.

3 : a person who should learn to use a search engine, or could use a set of encyclopedias.

I searched for "palidor" on http://www.m-w.com/ . It didn't know the word, but came up with the following suggestions (among others):

- fallow deer
- fellator
- polluter
- violator

Take your pick.

Palidors is a 13 year old high school freshman currently attending H.B. Plant High School. He doesn't understand the point of these messageboards, as all questions he has asked so far have been to test your knowledge, he knew the answers in advance.

He got the name Palidors from the game Final Fantasy 3.

......or maybe a 33 year old freshmen in high school? last time I checked, most 13 year olds are not in high school yet...and Palidors certainly does not seem to be one who could be called above average. but...c'est la vie!

He's a will-o'-the-wisp,
a flibbety-gibbet,
a clown.

Palidors is not an asset to the forum.

But, I would like to say a word on his behalf..

Palidors makes me laugh.

Flibbety-gibbet? That's hilarious!

I love the sound of it, even though I don't know what it means.

Flibbety-gibbet.

I'm going to work this in first chance I get.

thanks, Moriah.

Does D-Con make a spray for Palidors?

Does the Department of Agriculture have a Palidors elimination program?

This threat to public health must be stamped out!!!

How do you solve a problem like Palidors?

How do you make him stay and listen to all you say?

Monty

Moraih: the only solution is prevention of a like problem. Palidors relations are advised of the following: Condoms, IUDs, BC pills, or a combination of the foregoing, that is if abstinence is not an option.

It's flibbertigibbet:
(From M-W)

flib·ber·ti·gib·bet
noun
Pronunciation: "fli-b&r-tE-'ji-b&t
Etymology: Middle English flepergebet
Date: 15th century

: a silly flighty person
- flib·ber·ti·gib·bety /-b&-tE/ adjective

(Pronunciation: & = schwa, E = long e)

(I take it, Wally, that you have successfully avoided The Sound of Music thus far in your life?)

Yes, I've been very fortunate, Tom.

I remember my wife watching it on T.V.

I wandered in, watched a few minutes, then made a run for it.

She called me a Neanderthal, but I think I did the right thing.

Ahhh, that behavior shows that you are the quintessential flibbertigibbet! ;)

C'mon guys, leave him/her alone.

This is not the spirit of this board. We're here to ask, learn, discuss. Not to lambaste others.

If you want to make fun of Palidors, do it in the Pit.

Please try to swallow your pride and let this go. It's not worth it.
