View Full Version : Had the STRANGEST Dream Last Night

Ok dopers, let's have a little fun and analyze my dream. I'm not looking for actual advice or insight, but I just want to share this bizarre dream. You can be as cruel as you want in picking me apart, I don't mind. Here we go!

It started out with me being in high school again, but at my current age... and a part of me knew I shouldn't be there, but for some reason I had to take Algebra over again. My teacher was Mr. Kirby, who was actually the teacher I had as a student teacher who I taught physics under.

As the dream went on, I was really bored and uninterested with the class. It was so easy, and I didn't understand the point of having to do this class, so I just slacked off. I did fine on tests and quizzes, but I neglected homework and projects. I had assumed I was just going to slide by and pass easily, even at the top of my class.

Well, eventually the end of the class comes, and he puts the grades of all the students, ranking them from best to worst. I was surprised to see I wasn't even in the top 10, but then someone pointed out to me all of the assignments I was missing, and how I didn't even do the final project. They pointed out to me that I should be worried about failing.

As Mr. Kirby was walking around the room, he left this grocery bag with a 2 liter bottle of Duck Water (an imaginary product my mind made up, but it was flavored water in a green/yellow label). I took the water and left the school, really upset with myself. I thought that Kirby had left the water on my desk accidently, but I wanted revenge for him giving me a bad grade, so I started drinking it out of spite.

Eventually I decided it would be best to go back and talk to Mr. Kirby about my grade and explain why I deserved to pass. I get back and the first thing I notice is that under some of my grades, he put "like" as the grade, instead of a number or a 0. I figured in my head that that meant he "liked" me as a good student, and so I was exempt from that assignment.

I asked him about the water and why he left it on my desk, and he got all nervous and said that he just wanted to give me something. And he explained that I was going to pass because I was a good student, and yeah, I didn't really deserve it. He mentioned something about a bible study group too, I think, though I forget exactly.

Then out of nowhere, I start railing against religion to him. I start talking about how absurd the idea of God is, how wrong the Bible is, etc. Evidently Mr. Kirby is very religious, and does his best to calmly and politely point out some positive aspects of religion to me. But of course, the ardent atheist that I am, I keep on doing my best to persuade him against religion. My mom and sister are somehow suddenly around, and are ganging up on me, telling me that I should keep my nose out of someone else's religion, etc.

And then I just remember Mr. Kirby being really upset with me, but not angry, more like sad or dissapointed. It was almost as if he liked me... a LOT, if you know what I mean, and it just destroyed him that I didn't want anything to do with religion. I started to feel a little bad about being so mean to him... but realized that we just wouldn't work out together.

And... that's it! I woke up feeling EXTREMELY tired today, even though I got plenty of sleep. I blame the crazy dream.

This one is easy because I had to interpret this exact same dream for someone else.

Mr. Kirby represents God.

The algebra class represents hell.

The glass of water represents your soul.

The missing assignments represent the millions of people you killed in your insane attempt at world domination.

Your mom and sister just represent your mom and sister, who will always be there to criticize you.

All I can contribute is the fact the the yellow/green "duck water" probably means that Mr. Kirby is the Antichrist. You know, forbidden fruit, etc. May look appealing at first glance, but once you try it your soul is destroyed forever.

Now, if it had been orange water with a black label, then that would be a sign that Mr. Kirby is a representative of all that right and good with the world.

Is your Dad , by any chance, a quietly religious person who has never really pushed his point of view but is quietly disappointed by your atheism?
