Embattled TV pitchman Don Lapre was found dead in his Arizona jail cell on Sunday, just days before his $52 million fraud trail was set to begin, authorities said.

U.S. Marshals spokesman Matt Hershey told Phoenix's KSAZ television that his death appears to be a suicide, but authorities at the Florence, Ariz., facility were still investigating.

I guess it's a shame, anyone kills themselves. And a shame for all those people he conned, that they won't get a chance to have a day in court. Still I guess he should've just wore it and went to jail if guilty. It was a federal rap after all and if our many Illinois governors can serve time, well..

I still liked him better than Kevin Trudeau

I put this here because he was kind of a celebrity and he was promoting vitamins and he was on TV, seems like the right place. Please move if not appropriate

Strange note on his webpage (donlapre.com), and pictures of his three kids. Regardless of what he did or what you may think of him, I feel really really bad for his kids.

Actually, the more I think about it, the madder I get at him. What a selfish thing to do to youngins that looked up to him.

Don't even have to get close to him. The slime is clear from afar. He's the worst of the worst, in my book. I mean, I guess Jonathan Edwards is about as bad, but Trudeau is horrifying.

I forgot about Don, hadn't seen him in awile. I notice his houses were remarkably devoid of walls. That must have made jail seem an even bigger bitch.
