MF Global fired all of its 1,066 brokerage employees on Friday as part of its banruptcy liquidation.
"I'm a credit analyst and I could have told Corzine not to invest 100 percent in the sovereign debt situation..." said [MF Global analyst Pierre-Yvan Desparois]
So... Why didn't you?

I've been downsized, and I've been outsourced. I have sympathy for those former employees. The grunts, anyway. Those involved with company policy, not so much.

My sympathy is inversely proportional to the bonus they made last year.

I think they were a bit Hastings about those layoffs.

At least Corzine didn't get a big severance package - but only because they went bankrupt before they found a sucker to buy it. Which was because lots of customer money went missing.

The article about this in the Times made it seem that they already had their resumes out, since this was no big shock.

Thousands of manufacturing jobs disappear daily with nary a mention.

Buh-bye.

(Just so it is not too in joke- 1066 was the year of the Battle of Hastings and the Bayeaux Tapestry. )
