This time of year I am craving pumpkin spice latte!!!

Coffee. Dark roast. Black, or with one of those flavoured creamers.

Though there's a place near here that does an awesome espresso milkshake.

Double espresso.

I've been known to have an octuple espresso or a 10-shot espresso.

Coffee. Good, quality beans, medium roast. With a big dose of cream or half-and-half. No sugar.

This is going to make the purists gnash their teeth, but the Starbucks-masquerading-as-a-hotel-Cafe at my workplace makes a frozen white chocolate mocha blended with fresh strawberries that is divine. Only a rare treat though - usually I just go for the vanilla lattes.

Espresso. Made either by me on my home machine, or by a decent espresso maker.

Starbucks and most other chain espresso joints don't count as decent espresso makers.

Made-at-home with fresh-ground coffee triple/quadruple shot latte with gingerbread syrup and 3 sugars/Splendas. Mmmmmm.

Yup. Folger's Black Silk for a affordable morning jolt.

You might want to try meth. It might be cheaper, and healthier, in the long run. :p

White mocca at a certain nationally-recognized chain coffee company. If I haven't gotten much sleep, it's upped to a a triple white mocca.

At a certain other national brand store it's a french vanilla with cream and sugar.

If I'm at home, the coffee beans come from a certain national brand that tells time, with a great deal of caramel vanilla creamer and sugar added.

thread hijack. how do you ratio your coffee to water for the coffeemaker? One teaspoon or one tablespoon per cup?

Freshly ground mocha java - straight up with nothing added. Made strong enough to stain your teeth. A 16 oz mug every morning. Now that's how to start your day.

Homemade cappucino with maybe a little cinnamon on top. Trader Joe's Kona for a regular cup of coffee, real sugar, real cream.

I spend more than half my life drinking iced coffee. I make a 12-cup pot with half-n-half and Splenda, keep it in the refrigerator. It lasts 2-3 days.

I've been known to drop a drop or two of Bailey's (or Sambuca, or Amaretto) into my coffee from time-to-time.

But not hard liquor.

If it's done right, which it seldom is: A Grande espresso Frappe with whip and only one shot of the sweet stuff. What that basically means is put two cups of cold coffee into the blender with two shots of espresso and a tiny dollop of cream and all the ice you can fit in the cup.

Or if I'm at home, Gevalia Kona brewed very strong. That is all. Strong coffee, rich not bitter, with nothing else in it.

Mmmmmmm.

It varies, but at the moment, I'm liking flavoured latte. Toasted hazelnut soya latte (soya being an aesthetic, rather than dietary choice)

If you put a spoon in it, and the spoon falls over, it's not strong enough.
If the spoon dissolves, it's just about right.

(Though occasionally a bone-dry cappucino (or what might be called a 'macchiato' in Italy) hits the spot. )

I only like hot coffee drinks. For some reason room temperature and colder coffee makes me literally gag. I don't know why. Especially since I love coffee ice cream. Weird.

Usually it's just black coffee, no sugar. This time of year I do like the occasional eggnog latte.

Our regular morning lattes. Two shots of espresso made with beans from CCM Coffee, mixed with one cup of warm 1% milk. It's woken me up every morning since my husband (and his espresso machine) moved in with me. Love it.

Typically I just go for coffee, fat free half and half, sugar. I'm not a big fan of fancy coffees. If I'm in an exciting mood, I might use a flavored creamer.

Depends on the time of year. October - May: large latté with a bit of cinnamon and cocoa; large iced mint latté the rest of the year. Was a concoction called White Mint Condition until cutting down on sugar, again either hot or iced, until I had to cut down on sugar.

Irish coffee made by my Derry-born friend Paul. The only time I drink coffee or whisky since I severly dislike both.
I haven't got a clue why it tastes good with 2/3 of ingredients being unpalatable.

And definitely on the WTF section a like chewing on a couple of coffee beans and love them when they are chocolate covered.

17oz of French Roast with 2 equal and enough skim to fill the other 3oz of the 20oz mug.
Or drop it to 14oz of French Roast with 3oz of a flavored expresso pod through my DeLonghi and the rest of the above.

Back in the day, when I was extremely miserable & losing weight rapidly, I had 3 granny smith apples & 1 meal a day with as much coffee as I could hold down. I had to stop after 3 months when I passed out at work though.

I'm not a real coffee fan. Can't drink "regular" coffee even with cream, sugar, etc.

I only do cafe mochas.

At work, it's a travel mug sized portion of the free coffee, black, and mix in a packet of Nestle hot chocolate mix. I call it my "broke ass mocha."

Depends. When I'm at home, I have a Green Mountain French Vanilla K-Cup from my Keurig, with skim milk and two sugars.

When I'm out and about, I usually go for a skim vanilla latte, though around this time of year, I'll occasionally mix things up and get a gingerbread latte instead.

Ok, I'm on board with this also.

However, sometimes I like cream. Heavy cream. And hot so it doesn't cool the coffee. Nothing worse than getting a coffee at a shop where they keep the cream cold.

What is whip? Whipped cream or a way of blending the drink?

YES! But given this very obviously true fact, why is it that coffee ice cream is so good? It makes no sense.

I brewed myself a nearly-divine double ristretto at home this AM! Thank you, my sweet Silvia!!
(Bolding mine) I read this as "risotto" the first time and got very confused. Then I had to Google "ristretto" to learn what it meant. I learned something today! It sounds very good, btw.

Coffee. Trader Joe's Breakfast Blend, freshly ground, with cream and sugar. (Can do without the sugar in a pinch, but the cream is essential. :))

OpalCat
11-18-2011, 01:54 PM
I can't do without sugar (or more often, Splenda--not for the calories, but because it dissolves much faster in liquid so you don't get an unsweetened drink with a super sweet sludge at the bottom). I can do without the cream if I have to, but I can NOT drink unsweetened coffee. Or tea.

I like my coffee the way I like my women: strong and rich.

In other words, I'm with Enright and company.
