According to Britain's 'Economist Intelligence Unit', Pyeongyang scored 0 in the categories of ellection process and diversity, as well as of civilian liberty, while they scored 2.5 in government fucntion, 1.25 in political culture, marking an average of 1.08.
While most countries showed improvement since the previous test, North Korea proved itself to be the most undemocratic nation after receiving a mark that is far below the average mark of all of the 167 nations, 5.49.
International community talks about Pyeongyang usually deals with North Korea's nuclear program. However, as it is shown in this index, it is more than necessary to question the lives of North Koreans, who live in a hermit kingdom where Kim Jung Eun succeeds power from his father, Kimg Jung Il.
Thus, it is time we've criticized the undemocratic ruling and totalitarian nation of North Korea, which is the most exclusive and repressive nation.

Hey, they got a .86 the last time they did the survey. They're actually the most improved nation on the 2010 survey, in terms of % change in score! Chad better start watching their butts next year.

I'm shocked to learn this. I thought NK was a land of freedom and love.
I demand that our government quit coddling NK and start criticizing it!!!

I think they should be classified as part of an Axis of - something or other. If that's not too harsh.

What, exactly, is the debate here? NK sucks? I think we are all in robust agreement on that point....
If the question is what the international community can do I think the only possible choice is helping to provide any and all support necessary for SK to continue to pursue a reunification at some future date. There will likely need to be significant monetary investment from the world community to make that possible.

That's the debate? Kim Jong Il doesn't care if we criticize him. He's thick-skinned as any dictator and his people never get to hear the criticism.

Notice any underlying demographic similarities about the citizens of the countries above? Are those similarities just coincidence?

I thought I knew what you were hinting at... but I really don't see it. Religion: I see Buddhists, Christians, Muslims. Race: I see Africans and Asians.
The only truly common thread is that they have all been ruled by outsiders for large portions of their history.

crazybear, please stop using this forum to repost articles about North Korea. I think people here would be happy to have an actual discussion about the country, but aside from the fact that the information in your OP is incredibly obvious, we want people to post their own opinions. This is close to spamming.
