Two categories, living and dead.

Living.
If you think of Willie Nelson or Snoop Dogg pot smoking should immediately spring to mind. In fact, some people are probably more aware of their pot smoking than their music. But who else should be included to round out this list?

Dead.
Jim Morrison and Bob Marely obviously. But who else?

As for the dead, it's hard to say. Just about anyone from the '60s and '70s would have been familiar with weed, but I can't think of anyone now dead who was known for their consumption the way Cheech and Chong were. I don't know much about Jerry Garcia, for instance; he might have given it up later in life. And for the ones who didn't get a "later in life," weed is not what killed them. Same for people from the early '90s. I'm sure Kurt Cobain and Tupac Shakur smoked up, but I don't remember that it defined either of them. It defines Snoop Dogg, but he's still with us. (And maybe that tells us something that Californians can remember in the next state election. ;))

ETA: I think out of all the Beatles, Paul is the only real devotee of the herb. The others, I think they phased it out when the '60s, or at least the '70s, were over. So I wouldn't include Lennon or Harrison, but feel free to prove me wrong.
