What's your 20? (http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=what%27s%20your%2020%3F&defid=2038100)

Particularly for the "Guest" Dopers.

My "20" is a wee bit outside and in Chitown.

It depends. If you're driving north on the road nearest me, I'm in Arcade GA. If you're driving south, I'm in Jefferson GA.

If you go by the fire/police department, I'm in Arcade, but the post office says Jefferson. I'm sorta stuck in a place that really doesn't belong anywhere.

Heh. Must be something about Georgia. My previous 20 was Bloomingdale, but if I'd lived about 200 yards west, I'd have been in Faulkville according to the posted signs, but still in B'dale according to the post office. I'd have also been in a different county.

I am just north of Higgins Lake, Michigan, in a valley, a fresh-water marshland bowl and tamarack grove; where the evening chill descends, like a ceremonial march, procession of silent soldiers, currents entranced and summoned by the frozen lows.

The region is perched, situated on an north/south inland ridge, where the basins fall either west, or to the east; waters making steady way, playing and percolating along, building in crescendo, eventually meeting Huron's western shore, or west to Lake Michigan.
25 miles from here in another spring fed bog, much like this one only greater in size - is the birth place of the rivers Au Sable, and mighty Manistee - one making its way east - the other, west.

Okay. In a nutshell: I am basically out in the middle of no damn where. I tried to describe my location poetically the best I could.
But what I am really experiencing right now is cabin fever, and delusions of grandeur, in this what is little more than an ice-box hell hole.

My initials and the city I self-identify as my home are both "DC", thus I am "DC in DC".

I was born in the city, and when I was 7 we moved out to the Maryland 'burbs (MoCo). At the time I joined the board, I was living in Petworth, a very exclusive (:D) neighborhood in NW DC. I still own the house there, but I rent it to some friends. I currently live in Takoma Park, Maryland, the "Berkeley of the East."

Second your sentiments about the primary. Jeez, I'm sorry, I'm basically a conservative, but I can't stand any of them. Good guesses!

I just had the idea to start another thread on the theme of this one, and decided just to mention my idea here. If anyone is uncomfortable revealing some specific location out of privacy concerns, perhaps a link to their local newspaper's "news of the weird" would work. One might live some distance from the city/town where the paper is located and still consider it their "local paper." In any case it would help locate them somewher on the planet! ;)

If that privacy concern isn't all that heavy, maybe a visit to Some Geography Trivia Fun: Degree Confluences (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=554045) would make a cool follow-up to this thread.

Probably not, but the next time you visit the Nashville area, let us know; we could use a good excuse for a middle Tennessee Dopefest. :p

Sounds like an idea! As for record of hometowns in Tennessee, I can't think of anybody with more. Makes me wonder (I'm not about to go counting) which state's Dopers has the record for most posts in this thread. Tennessee's looking pretty good so far!

Okay, I'm not going to go counting all the states, but I did want to make all the Tennessee people who read here aware of Middle Tennessee Doper Roll Call (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=557793) (which includes more than just Middle TN Dopers) and which has had 73 posts between 03-30-2010 and 07-08-2011 and might be worth a look and a post by others who don't mind sharing their location data.

Zeldar, Cub Mistress, missred, and any other Tennesseans:

I'm in Chat-Town now but I've also lived in Nashville, Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Dandridge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg.

Is this a record for "hometowns" in TN?

Well, you beat me:

Chattanooga, Murfreesboro, Nashville, Knoxville. But I keep moving out of state too. I try to escape, I just don't manage it fully. ;)

Hi, Lsura! You back in Tennessee?

Okay, I'm not going to go counting all the states, but I did want to make all the Tennessee people who read here aware of Middle Tennessee Doper Roll Call (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=557793) (which includes more than just Middle TN Dopers) and which has had 73 posts between 03-30-2010 and 07-08-2011 and might be worth a look and a post by others who don't mind sharing their location data.

Since that old thread was closed due to its zombie status, I started Tennessee Dopers Roll Call (Updated Feb/2012) (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=642048) to take its place.

All Tennesseeans Welcome!

Nope, just down the road in Atlanta. Plenty of family all around the state, though, so I make it to different cities pretty regularly.
