One step ahead of the shoeshine.

What's with the semi-nationalist culture that's built up there recently? I mean, you identify yourself as a redditor as opposed to a frequent visitor, so maybe you can explain.
When the site was a lot smaller, I understood the appeal of meeting someone else who also happened to post/lurk. I'd say that's the way it is with Dopers.
But now, people within Reddit's target market pretty much already know what the site is, and the whole "I'm a redditor" has become far too akin to 4-chan's /b/tards. Which is sad, because I think Reddit initially drew such a diverse/intelligent following due to its opposition to that sort of culture.
And it seems like this is tied to the overuse of stupid inside-joke memes to the point where That Guy everyone knows is walking around wearing shirts with ragefaces and the reddit alien.
I feel like this is the path Digg took, but on a much larger scale.
Thoughts?

Aw hell no. No, no, no. FUCK NO. Do NOT bring that retarded shit to this board. The SDMB is like the adult version of Reddit. The SDMB is where I come when I'm sick of college kids running their mouths.
And I'm sick of you people bringing every trendy topic from Reddit to the SDMB. It's just a regurgitation of the Reddit thread four days after the fact.
ETA: WTF is up with "IAMA"? It's "AMA" for "Ask me anything." "I am a" is already a phrase!
