Vatican chief Tedeschi dismissed (http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-18200083)

The director of the Vatican Bank, Ettore Gotti Tedeschi, has been removed from his post for dereliction of duty, the Vatican says.

Does this all seem awfully harsh to you as well? Shouldn't they just move him quietly to another bank? ;)

A more accurate in spirit report.

Vatican sacks banker after drawing line at abuse of its money (http://newsthump.com/2012/05/25/vatican-sacks-banker-after-drawing-line-at-abuse-of-its-money/)

The Catholic Church has finally shown just where it draws the line on the behaviour of its employees, after the Vatican bank sacked its director for not looking after the church’s money as well as it would like.

The director of the Vatican Bank, Ettore Gotti Tedeschi, has been removed from his post for “dereliction of duty”, illustrating just how quick the church is to act when someone jeopardises the well-being of any money under its care.

So it's true. A bad banker pulls it out too early and you lose interest.

It'll be ironic if he gets sent to prison. He's probably the only guy around who won't enjoy the sex.

Can't see Pope Palpatine in jail ... but he would take the money, run for it, buy an island and set up a non-extradition cozy haven for himself and all his criminal buddies.

In the meanwhile; we have to be exposed to their noisy malarkey about how birth-control is wrong, and how dare Catholics complain about abused children without putting butts into pews, nor cash into the collection plate. Oi, bishop, sell a painting or three and get over it!!!

The bible got it al wrong. Jesus didn't throw the money lenders out of the temple, because they were making his Fathers house into a den of thieves. No, he got angry at them for not making enough money at it.

Nice thought, but I'm pretty sure Darth Pontiff can't be prosecuted by any non-Church authority in any circumstances -- he's a sovereign, after all.
