I'm OK... (Aimed especially at #straightdope)

I'm OK... I know I disappeared Wednesday, never to be seen or heard from again. (Well, until now.)

I had some problems with my mother (see the Pit thread (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=66489) for more information) that necessitated my leaving as soon as possible. I am in Houston for the time being, but I'm not sure about where I'm going to be after that. (It's contingent on some stuff, so I don't know if I'm going to stay here or go back to Minnesota, although if I do go to Minnesota, it's going to be temporary.)

My presence in chat and on the SDMB is going to be limited by the fact that my laptop died, and although I've found that the local medical library has free unlimited Internet access (with a good connection, no sign-ups and no filters), there's no guarantee when I can come in and use it. Hopefully, I will be either getting a new computer or I will be back in MN with my old puter before too long.

I'm still OK, and I'm still in Houston. I have been in touch with NghtCrwlr, robgruver, and my family, so they know I'm ok.

I'm still relying on the goodness of the Houston public library system, but I'll try to check in as often as possible.
