Why does andros's post count read 0 in this this thread (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=73386)?

My guess? The Board software had a case of indigestion.

From what I've seen, it isn't just that thread. Apparently, it ate andros completely!

Maybe No Bones really did have proof of his alphabet sock theory. Or maybe not.

Bye bye andros!
Mars, who is glad he looked at the threads in ATMB before opening a duplicate one on the same thing....

Nope, I'm still here.
I asked TPTB* to see if a post count could be reset to zero without screwing things up. It can.
It's nice to be a newbie . . . everything's so clear. The grass is so green, the sky is so blue . . .

You're testing out to see if newbies really *do* get treated differently, aren't you? Then you'll come back to your regular post count and everyone will be so embarrassed that they were so mean to you before when they thought you were low-class, like in all the sitcoms. :D

How can he get back to his regular post count? Can you just manually make it whatever you want (you, not me)? Do you know what it was before he was reset? Do these pants make me look fat?

Get to "Comments on Cecil's Column" or to "GQ", newbie. ATMB's for experienced dopers!
Note: I expect a newbie like you to run crying to the pit and start a thread about this response which opens with the phrase "This is my very firstist pit thread". Well let me tell you, newbie: it's been done before!
And let me tell you, newbie: you're not gettin' into the Secret Clique until you've achieved "Beloved old timer" status, somewhere around post 1500 or so.

If they can set it to zero, I would imagine they can set it to anything. Whats about assigning a random newbie the job of "Piss Handy Off", and get them up to post 10k before handy does?

I believe the word you're grasping for is I'm.
If you'd bothered to lurk a bit before posting, newbie, you'd realize the irony of your misspelling in a post to Gaudere. It's made all the more ironic, given your typical newbie spelling flame below.

Oooh. A spelling flame from a newbie! How original! When you have a decent post-count under your belt and prove that you can write posts of substance, THEN feel free to critique my spelling, newbie. I notice that of your whopping 10 posts, you haven't started a single thread. Here's a quarter, newbie, go buy yourself a clue.
Although I will give you some credit for mastering the VB code rather more quickly then the average newbie does, so perhaps there's some slight hope for you, newbie.

So, how about them Mariners?

But, wait, I thought you really were gaudere. Someone had proof. Real proof that would hold up in a court of law. Never did say what sort of proof it was, but he argued before the Supreme Court. And ran multi-million dollar corporations.

Envious, SPOOFE? Why pick on me? I never had a post party. I don't even notice my post count most of the time. Even if they reset it, it would probably soon eclipse the highest poster; so no need to reset it :-)
I type fast & so does andros, soon he be right back where he was unless that nasty post pruning idea cuts the posts counts back.

How about Barry Bonds? You think he'll hit more than 70 home runs this year? Guy already has 32, can you believe it?

Possible, but not likely. I suspect he'll eclipse 50, maybe 60, but he'll fall short of 70. I think his walk rate will shoot up.
Hard to believe the guy's never even hit 50.

Therefore, your hints are:

It's been a while since we had to remind anyone of this rule but publicly accusing someone of being a sock puppet is a board no-no, Boney. If you have suspicions, please email a mod or admin with your concerns.
In fact, I just cleared out my email account in anticipation of the massive amount of evidence you apparently have regarding your as yet unfounded accusation.
I look forward to either you backing up your claims or you keeping your intangibale paranoia to yourself.
Thanks a pant load.

Well, considering we arrived at baby talk scatalogical references, I should be glad you bothered to edit.
As in your usual way, you are protecting your title to King of Smears.
I never said andros was a sock, only that he knows much more than he has said (except via email to moi).
And I certainly never said he was a troll. YOU were the one who claimed I said that, but your claim is wholly false.
In fact, I took the position that none of the Alphabet names were trolls. They were never trollish in any respect.
That impression was one YOU improbably fostered.
Hope your nanny can fix your pantload.
