Yeah, I heard this. Very sad. Talented actor with a reputation, I think, of being very professional.

He was great in his Battlestar Galactica(the new one) episode. Check out that episode if you want to see him give a good performance.

I thought he died some time ago.
I always confused him with J.T. Walsh, who did die 20 years ago. R.I.P.

Just so people know how many things he's been in, his IMDb page (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001334/). Very impressive. A lot more than just the Home Alone movies.

He was in C.H.U.D and Cat People!

Sure, sure. He was also in Big, Awakenings, The Milagro Beanfield War, The Trip to Bountiful, Beaches, Pollock, etc.

But he was in Sharknado!.

Just realized: I always had trouble remembering the right names of John Hurt, John Heard and William Hurt. Hmm, how's William's health been lately?

RIP, I just scanned the headlines. It's so sad he died home alone.

Oh, I know who you're talking about. I always get him mixed up with John Savage.

I thought he was perfect in Cutter's Way.
