I'm sure this has been discussed before, but now that we have a NEW board to discuss this kind of thing in the proper and just context, it's worth another go, I reckon.
So I'm asking for examples where the trailer was a little 2 minute work of art, and the movie was a 2 hour piece of crap.
Most recent example for me was Pearl Harbor. Very nice, stirring trailer and a quite unsatisfying and misguided movie to go with it.

My vote would be for Driven with Sylvster Stallone. Really good trailer - really bad, lame movie.

Under Seige II
Well it looked neat back then. The movie was horrid, though.

I agree about Pearl Harbor the trailer for that was a work of art. Add my vote for Mission Impossible II - fantastic trailer, but absolutely shitty typical Jon Woo bullshit.
BTW: Is anybody else disturbed that Jon Woo is directing a film about WWII Navajo codetalkers? :(
Those guys deserve a talented director.

The trailer for Hollow Man made it look exciting and interesting. It really sucked.

I went to see "The Fifth Element" because the trailer made it look a lot more fun than I found it to actually be.
In the other direction, I watched "Die Hard" last night and the DVD included the trailer. The awful, awful trailer.
