How many still active?

How many of these 17,000+ posters actually post?
There must be some who posted once and disappeared.
Can you tell how many are active?
How many can the board hold, in other words, how many would be too many?

When Bill H did the "Stats" thread, he calculated there were between 4000 and 5000 active posters at that time (middle of this year).

So, I guess around a quarter of those who sign up have remained active.

"Active" is relative.

I don't post much, but I'm a fairly active reader of the column and the Comments on Cecil's Columns and Staff Reports forums. That's not shown on the stats.
