View Full Version : Pooping on beverage cart?

Looking at the sage advice on this thread (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=87675), I noticed it's the second time someone brought up pooping on a cart in the airplane. Did this air rage really happen?

Indeed it did. (http://188.8.131.52/sections/travel/Crabby/cabinfev.html)

That article seems completely silly now in light of the Events.

BTW, I didn't mean to belittle your posting of the article-- I just meant that such things seem so trivial now, and I would think that any passenger who would do such things on any present flight would incur much more ire from his fellow passengers.

Pooping on a cart was the least of the problems.
The guy was an executive on a business trip. Not only did he poop on the cart, he threw his feces around.
He had to pay restitution to a number of passengers that were struck by his poopie.
If you ever saw this guy, you would conclude by looking at him that he was your average, 50ish looking, aging, run of the mill executive.
This is one of my favorite all time news stories, and it is very much true.
It all started when - already inebriated - he inisted on more drinks, but was denied.

There really is a website for everything.
The link isn't working right now, but the story can be found here:

IIRC he was banned from air travel for some period of time (too short only one or two years) and had to pay restitution to every passenger on the plane equal to the cost of a round trip plane ticket. They ended up having to cancel food and beverage serice for the entire flight.

- - - If I may go off on an unrelated tangent: my favorite goofy news stories are the ones of people blowing up their homes from using too many bug bombs. At one point several years ago, I had a small collection of ten or twelve stories I'd clipped from the local newspapers on this, but I lost them.
-I don't really enjoy the thought of people getting hurt, mind you, just the overall theme.
Maybe something philosophical, something about playing God, and the vengeance of a tiny, nervous six-legged deity....
One story I had showed a photo of a hillbilly trailer with one end blown open but there was so much junk piled/arranged in the yard anyway that you couldn't really tell anything was wrong.
I never have found anything on the web.
Let me know if you see anything. - MC

Man, I got cut off from the booze once on a flight, well actually my rowdy friends got cut off, I was probably within belligerent limits of good taste. Anyhoo, stopped the booze but I didn't think to evacuate my bowels.

Maybe next time, huh? :)
