Emergency: is Hotmail down?

There is a thread open over in mpsims also, so I guess there is some kinda problem. I can't open www.hotmail.com (http://www.hotmail.com) either.

I'm getting:

Unknown Host

Description: Unable to locate the server named "lc3.law5.hotmail.passport.com" --- the server does not have a DNS entry.


Which sounds a little hairier than the usual timeout when a server is down for upgrades, maintenance, etc.

Ive logged in a couple of times today... including just a few seconds ago to check before I answered... no probs here.

No problems here. What server are you using? (I am using Prodigy, no problems with Hotmail whatsoever)

I got into mine about an hour ago - no problem.

I got in but Hotmail.com doesn't seem to be working. Try getting in via www.msn.com. (http://www.msn.com.)

I don't use hotmail but I have a hotmail account and I am getting the same error as Beatle even when I go in by way of msn. So, sounds like the have a problem.

I'm on Mindspring and couldn't get through via Netscape or Internet Explorer. >8(

I have two ISPs, one won't get in, the other (Mindspring) has no problem. My sister only has the ISP that won't get it, so I forwarded some email from her hotmail account (she gave me the password) to an email account that she can get to.

Whatever it is, it will be resolved soon.

The msn.com trick doesn't work. I tried. RGH!

And of course, tomorrow all my messages will be gone, or my mailbox will be stuffed to the gills.
