I have heard before that during the Civil War Georgia, I think it was, succeeded from the confederacy. I was wondering If anyone could verify or shoot down.

Dunno much about Georgia, but the word is secession (http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=secession). The word you used, Succession (http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=Succession) is a very different thing.

The Vice-president of the CSA, Alexander Stephens, was from Georgia if that is any help.

If Georgia has seceded from the CSA, what would it have accomplished? Were the Georgians upset about the way the CSA government was being run or were they trying to sue for peace to keep Sherman from destroying the state?

All I know is I heard it somewhere. I do know that it also said it was towards the fall of the CSA if that helps answer it.
