Note that this sort of graph is influenced by differences in the number of people born in various years. For example, the number of deaths of 60 yearolds is about 1/3 of that of 80 yearolds. I imagine that there were more people born 60 years ago than 80 years ago, so the relevant number is smaller than 1/3.
