Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe anyone on the planet has actually achieved anything with respect to consciousness other than exploring the pros and cons of lots of different angles (which is not to minimize the effort or intellect involved).

When you state it would overturn much of cognitive science, that sounds like something has actually been conclusively figured out.
