Tomorrow is my birthday and I'm not happy.

Tomorrow is my 58th birthday. I'm old.
The anniversay of my son's death is two days later. I'm depressed.
Today I had to go to the dentist. . I hate going to the dentist.
I'm on a diet; no birthday cake. (Least of my woes)
Won't someone cheer me up, please?

Yay! It's your birthday! So many people are glad you are in the world.

Do something you really like doing tomorrow. Something you rarely do. Make it a treat and a remembrance of your son.

I hope you feel better soon!

You share a birthday with my baby sister. Happy birthday!
You made a difference in more lives than even you are probably aware of, and they will always smile when they remember you.
People here like and respect you.
You are LIKE HELL OLD!! Talk to me in 20 years. Then you can say you're old.

To cheer picunurse
I compose a little verse
within it a bit of silliness I’ll intersperse
(Here’s hoping it doesn’t make things worse
and I promise to keep it very terse!)
I hope your birthday will disburse
and lift from you this sadness curse
and the depression will disperse
(maybe you’ll get a nice new purse?) (it rhymes, ok? )
Maybe a birthday wish will throw the aging gears into reverse?
I swear a smile from you, I will coerce
and in cheerful feelings you will immerse!
The Dopers here are quite diverse
about many topics we do converse
many of which are quite perverse
So from us to you, let good feelings transverse
as we all know you can overcome anything adverse!
Okay, everyone! No need to rehearse!

Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday to you!
Happy birthday, dear picunurse
Happy birthday to you!

Your verse was terse. I will admit, it could be worse. How did you know my nee was Morse? (ok, it doesn't quite rhyme, but it looks like it should.)
There just aren't enough Thank Yous

Well, I am going to go against the grain and advise you to forget it's your damn b'day--that what I did this year, the worst year I have ever had. Remembering it was my b'day would have only made me more depressed. If your life sucks, you just have to deal with that the best you can. Thinking, "this is my birthday, I should be happy" will only suck you into that La Brea tar pit of despond.

Thanks, you guys!
Maureen Old is in my heart today. Next week, I'll be young again. Wanna come with?
swampbear [hug]Thank you[/hug] I needed that! The healing is slow and may take forever, but I'm a little better everyday.
My husband loves me whether I'm slim or fat, as long as I'm healthy, so I'll always be beautiful. Thanks for reminding me.
CWN The "my friend" is a help in itself. We can never have enough friends, even virtual ones.
mlerose the Fireman is planning tomorrow. I'm sure he will surprise me beyond my wildest dreams (as long as we can afford it) He's sleeping today, and I let myself think too much, I guess.

awwwwwww picunurse, there there. Bdays are good. They mean you made it another year. So WOOHOO!!!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY PICUNURSE!!!!!!

On the other hand, I know you're all down over your son's death. I cannot begin to imagine how it would feel to lose a child. I wish you peace and healing.

Also, just think, once you finish the diet you will be all slim, trim, svelt and sexy. Just think of all those people who will only be able to drool and wish as you walk by.

How's that? Feel better?

Eat some cake and then go exercise.

They're both good for you.

Like you (and Eve), my birthday was pretty crappy, on account of it's the anniversary of my mom's death. But we have a rule at my house that you may want to employ: Everyone gets the whole month for their birthday. People say happy birthday to you nearly every day. You can blow the diet, splurge on stuff, do aerobics in your underwear...whatever you want. And everyone has to give you a pass because it's your GIANT BIRTHDAY. So, even when I'm feeling blue because I'm missing my mom, I know I'll have other days to celebrate when I'm not feeling so low.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, NURSIE!!!!! You look faaaaabulous!

It's your birthday! Forget the diet, at least to have a little cake. Go on. Go ahead.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
