In which I finally score a Wii

After much searching, many Ebay bids and general wanting I have finally managed to get a Wii. Well, I don't actually have it yet but I won it on Ebay last night and the seller accepted my paypal payment sometime overnight. (See, I'm a good buyer...I authorized the paypal about 45 seconds after the auction ended!)

I can't wait!

Welcome to the club, my friend! There was a thread a while back wherein people posted their Wii numbers for Mii exchanges. Maybe we can start another one once you have yours in hand.

I had to wait about a month to get mine - it was a Xmas gift pre-sale - and it was worth every minute.

I'm not a huge gamer, but it's just a blast. WiiSports alone is so much fun, and I can't recommend Super Mario Galaxy highly enough.

Are you getting an extra controller with it? That's the one peripheral I'd recommend from the get-go.

I plan to go get one. Accessories can be found in abundance, it was the console that I couldn't get. I've gotta get my SO hooked, so the 2nd controller is a must have.

A little off topic, but are Wii still that hard to find in the US? They're easy to get hold of (both new and used) over here, so I had assumed the shortage was over.

Very hard to find. Most stores sell out of them within hours (minutes?) of stocking them on the shelves.

The other problem is that the stores don't seem to get them regularly. I was told by a Circuit City that they had gotten a few 2 weeks before I was there and didn't expect more for a month. Similar at Best Buy.
