The Book "Life Plus 99 Years"

I saw a documentary about Leopold and Loeb and it mentioned Leopold wrote a book "Life Plus 99 years."

I went to our library and found they had eight copies of the book ALL of them in reference that couldn't be checked out.

I then went to eBay and Amazon and found the hardcovers were selling for over a hundred dollars and the paperbacks were $40.00 and up. (used of course)

I can see why the library won't let the books be checked out as someone will steal the book and sell it, but I was just wondering, has anyone read this book.

I can't get to the branch of the library right away to take a look at the book in reference (closed stacks).

Also why the high price, is it just supply and demand?
