How many pairs of pants do you own?

I was going through my underwear draw today and was wondering if to have, ahem, 30 pants is a lot? While i was at uni they served their purpose well- i didnt have to do washing often, but now i do actually do weekly washing im thinking perhaps its time the granny pants went in the bin (i have nice pants too).

So how many do you have?and how many is too much?

Given what the OP is actually referring to, I find this post hilarious.

I have 20 pairs of undies, maybe. Maybe 30. I'm always buying new panties, so at any given time I may have 10 pair I have no intention of wearing unless I start running out of options.

I'm Hippo's dad, and she's out at the moment, so I'll answer for her: she means underwear or knickers as we call them here.

BTW, Inigo Montoya, I've always wanted to say that you have the best location I've ever seen. Really clever.

The OP is talkin' that UK talk - she means UNDERWEAR!

I have about 20 pair - some are really old and I never wear them. some are fancy and I rarely wear them. I have about 6 new pairs, and 6 more serviceable pairs.

Oh, that explains "granny pants" then. I was picturing something made out of polyester.

I have about 20 pairs. You can never have too many. They don't take up much room.

About 21 pair or so. I like to have enough to go three weeks without laundry, because I'm lazy like that.

Oh, and another 3 that are only put on for the sole purpose of being taken off.... if you get my drift.

I have about 18-20 pair of undies. I had another ten or so more but since they were too big on me now and they were still in very good shape, I gave them to a thrift store recently. All of mine are granny panties. Serviceable, durable, economical cotton, they are.

Hippo, by "pants" do you mean the UK colloquialism of "undies" or just general trou?

Probably 35 pairs. I buy them when I don't feel like doing laundry.

Underwear - no clue. 20, perhaps.

Pants - three that fit and I can wear among people. Four or five that I haven't thrown out since before I lost weight. Four or five pairs of sweatpants. Hey, I'm a sucker for comfort.

Up until recently, zero. Then I started developing a taste for....more exotic types of underwear. I would say 6 now. (though they are not for daily wear)

If we're talking about underwear, that's a good question.

I was definitely guilty of buying more underwear instead of doing laundry in university. I'd say I have at least 30 pairs. Maybe more...

I've got those 5 or 6 pairs that you buy and they turn out to fit weird because that brand's size is different. I've got 2 or 3 old ones. I've got about 15 regulars that I rotate around my schedule. I've got two "nice" pair.

This reminds me that I need to go through and toss the old ones.

For ladies, we call 'em underwear, undies or panties, all of which come brief (Granny panties are these) or higher cut bikini style. Guys wear boxers or briefs (tighty whities are an example.) Both sexes can wear thongs as well, though I really don't understand the appeal.

Well, I call them underwear. As to how many pairs I have . . . I dunno. Between 20 and 30, probably. I know I have enough to go at least three weeks without doing laundry, but by then I'm down to the old ones where the elastic has lost any sort of ties to the word.

As to trousers, I have just counted them, and I have 21 pairs, counting pajama pants. Seventeen without pjs. I had no idea I had so many.

Over here, the term underwear covers what you wear under your outer clothes, so it includes bras. (I don't wear them, though).

I have a drawer which is fairly deep. In it I have (underwear) pants. There are many. There have been many for many years. No, I have never counted them. There are probably ones at the bottom of the drawer that have never seen daylight. I have come across ones that have holes in them (in unexpected places).

And that is all I'm prepared to say about my pants.

Okay so if you call underwear pants underwear, ladies, how do you know someone isnt refering to their bra?!

thanks dad for that, a little too much detail about the holes perhaps though

Because no one over here would ever call their bra "underwear". They'd just call it a bra.

If you asked someone what kind of underwear they were wearing, you might get an answer that mentioned boxers, bikinis, or thongs. Never bras.
