Can you switch an Adobe license from PC to Mac?

I have Adobe CS 2.5 for PC, my old PC is in bad shape and is old enough that upgrading it would not be worth it, I'd have to replace it. Can I call Adobe and have them switch my license to a Mac since I use a Mac now?

I've heard of people doing exactly this, although I've never personally done it. My understanding is that if you call Adobe, it won't be a problem.
