butt chafe (TMI)

A new pest out of the blue: My hairy ass crack has started to suck up tiny bits of lint from my underwear that proceed to chafe my rear end unbelievably sore when I do my aerobic walkabouts or just walk any time for more than 15 minutes at a time.

Sweat seems to escalate things. Now that I'm 60 lbs. heavier (not fat) than I used to be, I can't go anywhere without my ass crack starting to sweat. I just got home from a refreshing one-hour walk and found out that even my upper hamstring just before the buttock had irritated to the point of a small blister forming. Aargh!

This is not a question of hygiene, as the stuff that chafes my ass is not bits of shit but pure fabric, and a thorough showering will do nothing to alleviate the problem. I even shaved my crack to see if it would help. Apparently not much. What to do? Do I need to start buttering up my butt before leaving home? I've never heard of such a problem, even among friends I share stuff like premature ejaculation and nipple problems with. Am I a freak? Is there a remedy, other than emaciating myself back into 140 lbs and lasering my anus hairless?

Maybe get some baby powder or anti monkey butt powder? I have a couple pals who swear by the latter stuff.

Have you recently bought new undies that are perhaps exacerbating the problem?

Check your laundry detergents and fabric softeners. Most of them contain scents and other "stuff" that can stay in your clothing, and in the hot, moist confines of your problem area, the residues from these products can cause skin iritation..

I reccommend doing a separate load of your intimate apparel in a diaper detergent and not using any fabrc softeners (both liquid and dryer sheet types).

The suggestion about various topical products also seems worth trying...

Best of luck with this

They actually make a sports product for this problem. It can also go on the nipples of male marathon runners. Also, if you walk a lot it can cause a problem with friction, as my husband found out. He tried Bag Balm, (per an online recommendation by distance runners I found somewhere) which he didn't much like, he prefers Udderly Smooth in the jar. (He can walk 15 to 25 miles per day at his warehouse job going to fetch items to be shipped.)
