What's the last song you heard and liked instantly?

I heard this song, "Ultranumb" by Blue Stahli this morning, and it was definitely worth tracking down an MP3 of it.

What's the most recent song to really grab you?

I haven't been listening to the radio much lately, so probably "The Dog Days are Over" by Florence + the Machine.

What a coincidence - yesterday I heard a different song by them and immediately bought it. Only I can't remember what it's called.

Evidently it was "Shake it Out".

HA! That one's probably not the last one I heard, but it's the first one I thought of, instantly.

And the video really hit me. Rather bacchae-like.

A few months ago I heard a song called I Don't Mind by a band called Sunday Valley on Morehead State University's radio station. I liked it so much I immediately tracked them down and bought the album. Here's a link to their web site page that contains a tune widget; you have to select I Don't Mind from the list.

Anthem, from the musical "Chess". My wife was putting it on her iPod yesterday, and I immediately fell in love with it.

My taste in music sucks, so I'm going to say Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO and Dynamite by Taio Cruz.

Just heard it yesterday. I hate the original by Nicki Minaj, but I really like this, even though I feel sort of guilty for it.

Probably Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance". I'm not a particular fan of hers, but that immediately struck me as a great pop song.

I love this song, too. It makes me cry every time I hear it, though, because our house burned down last year. It kind of pulls out that healthy, emotional stuff out of me.

Interesting question; I was playing Saint's Row 2 recently (which has a wide and interesting music selection presented as radio station channels) and came across two tunes that were new (to me) and really caught my attention:

Teenagers -- My Chemical Romance

Hate (I Really Don't Like You) -- Plain White T
"Hate is a strong word. But I really really really don't like you..."

In Your Arms which I heard about through the video. One listen and I knew I'd have the tune stuck in my head all day long. Bought her album on iTunes the next day.

I'm out of touch with most non-electronic music these days since I live overseas. Electronica seems to be easier for me to find good referrals for than more mainstream music. And I hate J-Pop, so I pretty much live in music hell.

"Shots on the Hood of My Car" by Kesha. A very upbeat song about what she'd do if the world was coming to an end.

Last song I heard and liked instantly, non-Kesha division: maybe "Pumped Up Kicks" or "Rolling in the Deep", as so many others have said

One by Lady Gaga that I never got the name of.

Before that, it was "Smooth" w/Santana.

I don't listen to radio much!

A couple of months ago, I heard the Alabama Shakes' "Hold On" on Sound Opinions. Loved it. Apparently Adele--not really sure who she is--mentioned this video a couple weeks later, so it's getting lots of hits. Which is good, because, it's amazing.
