Just to clear up from the last round, these are

1. Thelonious Sphere Monk, the brilliant but eccentric jazz pianist and band leader.

2. Glenn Miller, missing in action from the Second World War, possibly a victim of friendly fire.

3. Marcus Miller, funkmeister, composer of most of the album 'Tutu', and Grammy award winning producer.

Jean Racine indeed!

1. is Peter Mark Roget, whose best known work is the Thesaurus that bears his name.

3. is the playwright who wrote 'Cyrano de Bergerac', Edmond Rostand. Cyrano was a real-life writer in the 1600s, but he is much better known as the central figure in Rostand's play than for who he really was.

So -

DQ1 - Were you born before 1900 AD?

DQ2 - Are you best known for your accomplishments in The Arts, being here defined so as to include all visual arts, cinema, theatre, dance, music, literature or other creative endeavours, whether done for the entertainment of others or for the sake of the creative act itself?

I only know Racine thanks to a silly decision to translate Phaedra from English to Spanish in high school. *shudder*

DQ1: No, I was born after 1900 AD
DQ2: Yes

Yanno, I read the IQ, have no idea. Then, upon the answer being revealed, I say "OH!" I should have known Roget, for heaven's sake!
