concrete basement floor

I have a warm area (2ft.x 8ft.) in my poured (1917 year poured) concrete basement floor. The basement floor is at least 1200 sq. ft. There is nothing man constructed under the floor. It is summertime and the floor is warm in this area only! This area never sees sunlight and nothing above it could cause this.
Does anyone have a rational explanation on how this could be?
Thanks

Can it be over an old cistern, covered over and disused? Airspace doesn't make the floor act like a heat sink. I know you said nothing manmade, but sometimes they never bothered to mark covered over wells and cisterns.

What area or climate do you live in? How deep is the foundation under grade?
My WAG is that your basement floor may be radiating some geothermal heat.
