WTB: A "Retro" Self-Contained Entertainment Unit.....

.....with turntable, cassette player, radio and recordable cd unit. In oak finish if possible, but that's not a major concern. The cassete to cd recorder is, however.

Thanks!

Not sure one of those exists ... to be honest, I think for the turntable/tape/radio part you will have to go to a rummage sale, and then add a stand alone CD recorder. I haven't seen a combo unit in about 20 years, actually.

Hi, a! Good to see ya!

Yeah, they do exist.

Here's one I found: http://www.target.com/p/Crosley-Dire...gpa=pla&ci_kw=

I was just hoping to find a used one of these.

Thanks and miss you in WoW and in the thread!

Without the CD recorder, you could find a genuine retro unit... I've seen plenty at Goodwill/St. Vinnie's. But they'll take up a good chunk of your living room... or your Rumpus Room!

But Crosley is just about the only company doing the "cheap LP/cassette/CD-R" unit. And they've only been making them for a while. I'm assuming if someone had bought one of these, it's because they really wanted it... so very few would turn around and sell it.

But in case I'm wrong, check eBay or Craigslist nation-wide.

You're right, digs, but I like to come here first just to give my Doper friends a chance to sell something and make a few bucks if they need to.

Thanks

Ohh... good idea. I was just picturing you refreshing the thread every eight hours:
"Damn, still no CD-R/LP/Edison Cylinder/FLAC/Firewire entertainment center in teak!"

No, no, not at all! Just the opposite -- I was hoping I hadn't pissed you off with my first "Hey, you're never going to find that here" comment. I wasn't trying to "harsh your shopping", I really was just trying to save you the heartache of checking back here in hopes you'd find one.

Or, if you're referring to my "radio silence" today, I'm just now back from a day of teaching and meetings (if I checked The Dope at school, I'd never get anything done).

And I've been hanging out in The Pit lately (challenging Sandusky/Paterno apologists), so now nuthin' can piss me off.

And... I was hoping you'd laugh at the Edison Cylinder comment.
