The Adventurers retreat back to the relative safety of the Fortification. Knowing that they must face The Demon tomorrow, even if they wished to escape, they attempted to find rest. A few vigilant guards kept watch over the others.

Visorslash was on his way back to his quarters, when he was attacked suddenly and without warning. The blow landed, and knocked Visorslash to the soil, spilling blood everywhere. The frenzied attacker left quickly.

Visorslash takes 100hp damage.



PetW noticed someone approaching him from behind, and turned to face the intruder.

A powerful beam of magic shot towards PetW, who instinctively tried to block the attack however he could.

Somehow, the beam was completely deflected. PetW was still alive, and the intruder seemed to have vanished.

PetW takes no damage.



GuiriEnEspana felt a warm glow of light surround his body. In a matter of minutes, he felt better than he was before.

GuiriEnEspana recovers 50hp.



Glee was sleeping soundly, when suddenly, an explosive force knocked the roof and walls completely off of his quarters, and blasted Glee completely out of his bedding. He looked up and saw the terrifying Demon Lord... somehow, the creature had managed to sneak inside the Fortification!


"COWER BEFORE ME, WRETCHED ONE!!!

YOUR FEAR IS JUSTIFIED, FOR DEATH AWAITS YOU...

WITH BIG, NASTY, SHARP, POINTY CLAWS!!!

Now FIGHT ME, or DIE like a coward!"


The Demon Lord swings a massive blade, obliterating the bed and sending shattered pieces of the floor everywhere.

Glee is cornered, and has no choice but to fight. He wields his spear, and charges at the Demon Lord.

The Demon Lord swings his blade again, shattering the spear, and breaking every bone in Glee's arms.

The mortally wounded Glee is sent flying into the inner walls of the Fortification.

"Foolish bug. You go squish now!"



*CRUNCH*


Glee was slain in battle.









Inner Stickler hears the massive booming noises, and rises from his bed. He witnesses the final moments of Glee's life, and looks up... and up... and up... and sees the Demon Lord standing before him.

"It's always darkest before the dawn... but, it's even darker before your DEATH!"


Inner Stickler finds himself gripped by overwhelming darkness.... and cold....

The sound of demons drowns out every single thought in his mind.

A cold oblivion surrounds Inner Stickler... madness... blindness... and fear.

The insane nothing consumes Inner Stickler, until nothing remains of him.



Inner Stickler was slain by magic.









The Aftermath:

Upon inspection of his remains, they noticed that Glee seemed to be dressed like an ordinary Soldier, and there was nothing sinister about him. Reluctantly, they were forced to conclude that a Good Adventurer was slain.

There was nothing left of Inner Stickler, so they searched his quarters, or what was left of them. Upon inspection of his journal, they concluded that Inner Stickler was an ordinary Soldier, and there was nothing sinister about him. Another Good Adventurer was slain.

Upon Mosier's body, they found an Emerald Ring.
Upon Glee's body, they found a Blue Pendant.
Inside Inner Stickler's quarters, they found a Sapphire Ring.

DAY BEGINS:

As day dawns, the survivors discuss the possibility of simply trying to escape. Their leader, King Askthepizzaguy, was gone, and replaced by a horrible monster, and they were no match for Lord Phere.

However, they looked over to the horizon and saw the Demon Lord casting a powerful spell.

The valley, the mountains, and the sea itself began to disappear from sight.... the ground broke apart and dissolved all around them, until only the sun in the sky, and the Fortification, and the nearby Town, remained.

It had to be an illusion, but nonetheless, there was going to be no escape from this place... Lord Phere would see to that.

By the way, I'd be cautious about giving away any items. One thi.g we can expect in this game is unexpected twists: for all we know fubbleskag could be booby trapping our items. It doesn't really make sense to me if someone would be in it simply for the gold, or what that character may be able to do with that gold.

Personally I found it decidedly snuggly, but it's hard not to appreciate flattery -- even with ulterior motives.

As far as the Night's actions go... okay, so we know a player tried to take Visorslash out, whereas the Demon killed glee and Inner Stickler. I'd been leaning scum on glee for some reason--I guess the protection withouth specific reason given by BobArrgh made me doubt him--so now I'm sorry to see him go. Meanwhile, I've been determined to give Inner the benefit of the doubt, as opposed to my past games, and for once I was correct. Yet again a well-meaning Inner is blown to smithereens. Sigh. On the plus side, we seem to have proof that there's a healer in our midst!

I, er, take it Guiri was healed by someone else, rather than his own powers, though I guess there's no way of knowing either way. True or not, it's a relief that we have someone with that kind of power...or maybe more than one?

Well, as I said, it's reassuring to know that we don't just have protective powers (which can apparently be brushed passed by Phere) but curative powers, too. All that said, though, I'm very curious to know if anyone will claim to have protected anyone this time around. Sad that our previous Night's revelations re: who protected whom seems to have scared everyone off from Inner and glee--and I wonder if it's a coincidence that Phere went after them, when the previous Night these two who had been protected.

Maybe he (the demon) figured out that Guiri and Bob weren't planning on repeating their protections, especially since the protecting action is being publicized. Everyone's clearly now afraid of having our actions revealed!

Because it's underhanded rather than out-in-the-open. I have no idea what fubbleskag's motives are, nor what he plans on doing with these items. I'm not saying I'm a Paladin or someone who has to behave perfectly at all times, but there's something skeevy about this whole thing, and all in all I'd rather not risk losing any alignment points over something so ethically nebulous.

i'm not sure what you're worried about. barring recruitment, you can't become scum or town because of an alignment change. at least that's that's how i understand it. all you've done is imply you have a class that requires a specific alignment and therefore not vanilla.

something isn't automatically underhanded just because it takes place outside the game thread; I know that this is a foreign concept on the dope, but it's something ATPG has done more than once elsewhere
