No love for SG-U?

I mean, I know it started off crappy. But those last few episodes were good!

Nero yes, or perhaps one of the other emperors, but Commodus, like the transition form Republican Rome via Julius to Augustus has been done to death in the movies IMO.

Am currently rewatching Rome, and its still very, very good.

I see what you did there.

But I disagree. The deaths of Nero and Commodus have been done, yes, but not the periods of instability afterwards.

My picks?

Quantam Leap
The Muppet Show
Northern Exposure
Pickett Fences
Everwood
Boston Legal
Murphy Brown
Men of a Certain Age (I didn't think I'd like this one...I hated Ray Romano's stand-up act and Everybody Loves Raymond, but he really did shine, along with Scott Bakula and Andre Braugher)

I'm going to vote for Firefly BUT not to come back as a show. I want them to make Serenity Part II.

Also, Kings which you may or may not know was a VERY short lived show on NBC that was frigging phenomenal. The problem was NBC hated it from before it even aired and they didn't hype it at all! Nobody knew about it so NBC just let it slip right into oblivion. Seriously, see if you can find the episodes, I believe there are about 4 or 5 of them. It's like a movie every week. Ugh! Please bring this one back! Or better yet have someone good like AMC pick it up.

Also, someone mentioned Father Ted and I would like to +1 that!!

But I assure you we'll have lots of, well, not fun, because that's against everything we stand for.

I saw that show on DVD after it was cancelled. I agree that it was good and would like to see it revived. But I don't think NBC failed to hype it; I remember commercials for it in advance. The Wikipedia article says that the ratings for the first four episodes (aired on Sunday nights) that the show was exiled to Saturdays. So in my opinion the problem wasn't a lack of network support, but the fact that they aren't willing to give a show long enough to attract an audience.

Not a fiction show, but I'd give my left foot to see Mail Call from the History Channel come back. Some more non-fiction TV shows I would love to see back: Monster Garage, Junkyard Wars and Survivorman.

Human Target, Firefly, Saving Grace <without that crappy ending, at least>, ditto for BSG.

And a weird one: I kinda wish they'd bring back Fantasy Island. I can only imagine the kind of fun that could be had with that premise now.

Since no one has mentioned it in 169 posts, I guess I'm the only one, but I'd love to see Legend of the Seeker come back. Marvellous show with some really interesting characters and mostly fun storylines. And I normally hate fantasy; I was bored to tears by the Lord of the Rings movies. But Legend of the Seeker is probably one of my top ten TV series of all time.

Mike Rowe used to beg viewers, at the end of Dirty Jobs, to send in their ideas. I guess they really DID finally run out of dirty jobs.

I seem to recall reading that it was really expensive to produce, so it needed good ratings from the get-go to keep it from becoming a money pit for the network.
